Municipal infrastructure issues are complex, as municipalities must deal with competing demands, different community interests, and limited resources on a daily basis. The decisions they make have a profound impact on quality of life, prosperity and sustainability within our communities. CSA, through its Municipal Infrastructure Solutions Program (MISP), is addressing the needs of municipal practitioners and other stakeholders by providing neutral third-party support to accelerate implementation of proven modern infrastructure practices into our communities. Using a consensus-based approach, we work with a wide array of organizations and industry specialists to ensure that MISP solutions balance the interests of all stakeholders to create a better, more sustainable future. MISP focuses on delivering practical, pragmatic and proven tools and services in the form of new standards, best-practice guides, technologies and training offerings. Our products and services help practitioners – from planning and engineering to finance and consulting – deal with the complex issues associated with building and maintaining sustainable municipal infrastructures. In addition, we continue to develop standards and associated products to ensure the relevancy of technical content and its application.
