What do you mean by users?

In the CSA process, users refer to groups or people who are directly impacted by the product or service addressed by the standard. In some cases, that is not the average consumer. Many of our standards are developed for use by industry rather than consumers. For example, a user for an electrical standard may be a utility company rather than consumers. While consumers may not be represented on every committee, user interests are always represented. Our consumer representatives are assigned to strategic committees where they can influence a family of standards.
