Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard

Specifies electrical safety requirements for workplaces to establish practical safeguarding of workers during installation, operation, maintenance and demolition activities. CSA-Z462 also sets out requirements for the recognition of “qualified” electrical workers. The recognition of who is considered qualified to perform electrical work is fundamental to the safety precautions established in the Standard.

Canadian Electrical Code Part II

Defines safety standards for the design and construction of electrical equipment for use throughout Canada and installed in conformity with Canadian Electrical Code Part I standards.

Canadian Electrical Code Part III - Electricity Distribution and Transmission Systems

This standard applies to electric supply, communication lines and equipment located entirely outside of buildings and fenced supply stations.

Canadian Electrical Code Part IV

Provides industrial users who possess the appropriate design and operational qualifications design flexibility alternatives to the prescriptive requirements of CE Code Part I if they can demonstrate and document that the proposed design provides an equivalent level of safety.

Synergies between CE Code Part IV and other major global electrical standards will create a foundation for enhanced trade and adoption of new technology.
